✨ There is no clock in heaven. Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, opens a foundation of life: with Hashem there is no early and no late — and the moment a person tries to force G-d, he loses the gift that was already on its way.
“There’s no clock in heaven — everything is in heaven but a clock. There is no early or late in the Torah.” With the Holy One, blessed be He, it may be written for a person to have children, to be rich, to rise — and it can take five years, seven years, ten years. There is no control over it. So a person must not come demanding: “Prayer to force G-d?” Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, teaches: don’t force G-d. It is not respectful to force G-d.
Everything G-d gave us is a gift. If someone promised you a million-dollar gift, it is not nice to chase him crying, “Where’s the gift? Where’s the gift?” Instead — once in a while, walk by: “How are you? Shabbat Shalom.” Send him flowers, send him candies; maybe he’ll remember. Just so, says Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, the study of the Book of Deuteronomy knocks for G-d at nine hundred and fifty gates — as if to say: we are here. And of course He remembers.
