Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, observes: many fights are about nothing at all. We hear of people fighting for years and years — yet look deep into those fights and there is nothing to fight about, nothing to be hurt by. Still, people get hurt.
There are truly heavy and painful matters, where a person harms his fellow, and these demand real inner strength. But generally, Rabbi Pinto says, they are merely internal impulses and emotions that carry a person to places he should never be — ruining his life and his family’s life, lowering himself, and leading himself where he should never go.
