And some people are experts at finding a person’s weaknesses, making them feel they have a problem, because when someone has a problem it makes the other person feel superior.
So what should a person do when he comes to a new city and does not know how he will be treated? Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, gives the practice: hold your two fingers, take the inside and the outside, bind them together, and think of Joseph the Righteous — how he stood firm and coped — and say: “I am of the seed of Joseph, and the evil eye has no power over me.” That is the power to go forth, so that the influence of others does not bring you down.
