🎬 Fire broke out in the middle of the Yismach Moshe’s sermon — and he told the stunned crowd that Mashiach had been within reach. Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, reveals how Satan interrupts every holy matter, and the one principle that keeps you standing.
Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, opens with the rule: in every holy matter, Satan and the evil inclination try to interfere. He tells of the Yismach Moshe — grandfather of Rabbi Yoel of Satmar, a supremely holy man — who was teaching Torah with tremendous devotion when a fire suddenly broke out in the study hall. Everyone’s concentration broke. The Yismach Moshe told them: we were in such devotion that, had we continued, Mashiach would have come. That is Satan’s work — in every holy thing, since the creation of the world.
Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, continues: G-d created the best possible world, placed the first man in the Garden of Eden and gave him everything — and Samael came and tempted Eve and Adam, and we are still fighting that war today. The war is private for every person and general for the whole world; every soul in Israel is in a daily struggle. Satan knows that if anything succeeds, he has no existence. Hence the great principle: there is no such thing as everything going one hundred percent the way you want — because if it did, where would Satan be?
