Every Shabbat a person goes to a righteous man and says “I received a blessing”; a person gives charity; a person acts for the holy Sabbath. And people sit on Shabbat eating and drinking through the power of “He will double my sustenance” — because it doubles a person’s livelihood. We see it clearly how the Holy One, Blessed be He, doubles the food for everyone. When a person sits on Shabbat eating and drinking while others do not, and there is hardship at home, how difficult that is. Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, blesses: may the gates of Heaven open, may judgments be sweetened upon the people of Israel, and may we merit redemption, blessing, joy and great divine assistance.
