Look at the glass. Every one of us has good and bad — but how much more good is there? Far more good than bad. It makes no difference whether you are rich or poor: there is more good than bad. And yet what do we remember all day? Only the bad. They hurt me, they did this to me, they took from me, I lost. The accounting is completely upside down. So count instead. We see. We hear. We eat. We speak. We sleep. How much good is that? And see the good of Jerusalem — look at the good, there is so much of it. If a husband and wife saw only the good in each other, and if each of us saw only the good in the world, how much joy there would be and how different our lives would look.
