Rabbi Yoel Moshe Pinto, shlit’a begins with education: there is a certain parent who thinks that if he tells his child something is forbidden in the Torah, the child will immediately accept it and shy away from it. But no — sometimes a parent must realize that their child is not yet that connected to things, and they need to explain matters to their children in a more narrative way, in a more experiential way, in a more developed way.
Rabbi Yoel Moshe Pinto, shlit’a then turns the very same lesson inward. A person might not feel inspired one day by a certain commandment, not finding the strength or the energy to perform it. He may ask himself: how am I not excited about this commandment? How am I not running to perform it? He must understand that right now he is at a different level in serving G-d, at a different stage — and he should begin to explain things to himself in a more basic and simpler way, according to his level and the stage he is at.
