🎬 We have finished the holidays and repented — now winter begins, the time for soul-searching. Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, explains why Cheshvan, the month of the flood, is the time to bring order to your life, family and home.
Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, opens with the calendar: the flood occurred in the month of Cheshvan — Mar Cheshvan — and this is that month. We have finished the holidays, we repented, reflected on repentance and made resolutions. Now the winter begins, a time when everyone must do some soul-searching: how do I organize the order of my life? Of my family? Of every matter in my life — my wallet, my phone, my closet, my family, the way I speak at home with my wife? How do I bring order to the home?
Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, teaches: a home without order is a life of ups and downs, of nerves — sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes angry. Life needs order. In the beginning G-d created the world with order; the moment the order stopped, the flood came and destroyed the world. The Holy One, Blessed be He, wants order in the world — order in money, in friendships, in family, in everything. Where there is no order, there is no existence. That is the first thing.
