In the name of Rabbi Nehunia ben HaKanah and Rabbi Shimon the Great, in the book attributed to them, it is written that the Holy One, Blessed be He, recites Shir HaShirim every day — and that all healings are found within it. Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, relates that the great tzaddikim, when sick people came to them seeking salvation, would tell them simply: read Shir HaShirim. For the power of Shir HaShirim is an exceedingly immense power.
There is even a remedy taught, notes Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, shlit’a, for one who has not yet found their match: to read Shir HaShirim for forty days, a segulah for finding a spouse — for great power dwells in the Song of Songs. If Shir HaShirim holds such light, blessing, salvation and divine assistance, then how much more should we recite it on Friday — in the morning, as the Shulchan Aruch teaches — and again at the entry of Shabbat, as it is written and as all the people of Israel practice.
