The Sacred Mission to Feed 5,000 in Uman

The journey to Uman is one of profound faith. It’s a journey across continents, across time zones, and across personal barriers, all to answer a single, powerful call: to be with Rebbe Nachman for Rosh Hashanah. After the long flights, the bus rides, and the weary travel, a pilgrim arrives in Uman, their soul alight with spiritual fire, but their body tired from the road.

What is the first thing they need? What is the foundation upon which the intense spiritual work of the holy days is built?

It’s a warm meal. A taste of home. A seat at a shared table.

More Than Food, It’s Fuel for the Soul

This year, as HaRav Yoshiyahu Pinto leads the global Shuva Israel community on this historic pilgrimage, our responsibility is twofold. We must not only build the Great Ohel—the sanctuary of prayer—but we must also provide the lifeblood within it.

A meal in Uman is never just about hunger. It is about:

  • Strength: Providing the physical energy required for hours of intense prayer and devotion.

  • Community: Creating a space where friendships are forged, stories are shared, and a global family becomes one.

  • Dignity: Ensuring every single person can celebrate the holiday with a joyous, festive feast, regardless of their means.

When you provide a meal, you are doing more than feeding a person. You are giving them the strength to connect to God, the comfort to feel at home, and the joy that elevates their Rosh Hashanah from a personal prayer to a communal celebration.

Introducing “Seudat HaMelech” – The King’s Feast

To honor the pilgrims who have come to crown the King of the Universe, we are launching Seudat HaMelech: The King’s Feast.

This isn’t just a food fund; it’s a sacred hospitality mission. Our goal is to provide warm, nourishing, and festive meals for 5,000 people throughout the entire holiday. From energizing breakfasts to joyous holiday feasts, we will ensure that the tables inside the Great Ohel are overflowing with blessing and nourishment.

This is the ultimate fulfillment of hachnasat orchim (welcoming guests)—hosting the King’s own children at His table.

How You Can Serve at the King’s Table

You have a unique opportunity to personally host these honored guests. Your donation becomes a plate, a meal, a table filled with joy. By contributing to the King’s Feast, you share in the merit of every prayer uttered with strength, every song sung with joy, and every blessing made over the food you helped provide.

Here is how you can set the table:

  • Serve a Festive Meal for $36: Your gift provides one pilgrim with a full, joyous Rosh Hashanah feast, allowing them to celebrate the holiday with dignity.

  • Nourish a Pilgrim for a Day for $120: You become a personal host, providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for one person for a full day of their spiritual journey.

  • Host a Table of Ten for $360: A truly beautiful act of hospitality. Your generosity sponsors a full table of ten guests for a festive holiday meal, uniting them in celebration.

  • Become a Feast Founder for $1,800: Your incredible partnership helps sponsor an entire course of a meal for hundreds of people, bringing immense blessing and sustenance to the entire gathering.

  • Host a Community Meal for $3,600: Your incredible partnership helps sponsor an entire course of a meal for upto a thousand people, bringing immense blessing and sustenance to the entire gathering.

Every donation, no matter the size, adds another plate to the table and another measure of joy to this holy occasion.

The prayers will rise from the Great Ohel, but the strength for those prayers will come from the feast you helped provide. Thank you for being a part of this sacred mission.
