Passover Donations: Kimcha Depischa
Pesach (Passover) is the time of our freedom, a celebration of redemption, family, and community. Central to this celebration is the Seder meal, where we recount our story and share special foods. However, for many families within our community and beyond, the rising costs of essential Passover items create a significant burden, making it difficult to observe the holiday with dignity and joy.

What is the Mitzvah of Kimcha DePischa?
Kimcha D’Pischa (literally “Flour for Passover,” often meaning “Funds for Passover”) is an ancient and vital Jewish tradition. It’s a special Mitzvah (commandment/good deed) to ensure that everyone in the community, especially those less fortunate, has the necessary supplies – Matzah, wine, meat, produce, and other staples – to conduct a proper Seder and celebrate Passover fully. It embodies the core Jewish values of Tzedakah (justice/charity) and Areivut (mutual responsibility).
The Need is Real
This year, many families are facing unprecedented financial challenges. Inflation and economic hardship mean that affording even the basics for the week-long holiday is out of reach for too many. Imagine a Seder table lacking essential elements, or parents worrying about how to provide for their children during this special time. Shuva Israel is committed to standing in the gap.
