Bringing people together since 2003

In 2003, Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto founded Shuva Israel in Ashdod, Israel. With a vision rooted in the Jewish values of Torah study and acts of loving kindness (Chesed), Rabbi Pinto sought to create a community that would nurture spiritual growth and provide support to those in need.

For more than 35 years, organizations like ours have been stepping up to build resilient communities rooted in kindness and generosity. At Shuva Israel, we carry forward the Jewish tradition of philanthropic giving—through both financial support and the dedication of time and energy—to uplift those in need and strengthen the bonds that unite us.

2005 - 2010

Expansion Across Israel

Between 2005 and 2010, Shuva Israel expanded its presence by establishing additional yeshivas (Jewish educational institutions) in key locations:

  • Ashkelon
  • Kiryat Malachi
  • Rishon LeZion

These yeshivas became centers of learning for over 500 rabbinical students, fostering a new generation of Jewish leaders deeply committed to Torah and community service.

2010

Supporting Widows and Establishing Schools for Girls

In 2010, recognizing the needs of underserved populations, Shuva Israel:

  • Began providing financial assistance to 180 widowed women in Israel, offering them essential support for daily living.
  • Established schools for girls in Ashdod, emphasizing the importance of education and spiritual growth for young women in the Jewish community.

2012

Launch of the Ashdod Soup Kitchen

In 2012, Shuva Israel opened a soup kitchen in Ashdod with a mission to combat hunger and support families in need. This initiative:

  • Serves over 3,000 meals daily to individuals and families across the region.
  • Has become a cornerstone of the organization’s commitment to Chesed, embodying the Jewish tradition of caring for others.

2015 - 2018

International Expansion to the United States

Between 2015 and 2018, Shuva Israel extended its reach beyond Israel by establishing centers in the United States:

  • Los Angeles
  • Miami
  • New York

These international yeshivas and synagogues aim to:

  • Promote Torah study and Jewish values within diverse communities.
  • Foster connections among Jews worldwide through education and cultural programs.
